Single Stage Systems

Single Stage System use a primary sampling device such as a Conventional Baffle or Sweep to extract a sample from a moving conveyor belt.  The sample collected is then dropped into a collection container further for analysis.

Conventional Baffle Plate Type
This type of sampler extracts an increment from a free-falling stream of material at the head end of a feed conveyor. It consists of a large baffle plate that traverses across the material stream, exposing the cutter opening to the material flow.

Rotary Sweep Type
The most cost effective and sample-size friendly sampler is the rotary sweep sampler. The operation of this type of sampler is based on rotating a counterweighted sample cutter about a shaft through a moving stream of material.

Directly under the sample cutter, a special impact idler is used. Just outside the sampler enclosure on both sides are conforming idlers. These conforming idlers are an important part of conforming the belt to the proper radius to assure a clean sweep is made.  With proper adjustment of these idlers, HSS sweep samplers have the ability to "dry streak" conveyor belts, leaving no doubt to the accuracy of the sample collected.
